And a good reason not too.
No, I'm not from Australia, but I did watch Crocodile Dundee...TWICE!

To put that into perspective, there are 23 living species total.

I've considered moving there just so I can drive a 70 series Landcruiser.

Like the old outback saying goes..."it only takes one species of tree climbing crocs to spoil your knickers"...

What idiot would climb a tree in Australia? That's drop bear territory.

Every time I see anything about Australia, I think of this.

Lots of dingos on Fraser island apearantly...and you can't just shoot 'em like you can on the mainland.

nope, you may not do mean things to the dingos on fraser, some of the best camping in the world still

You can't shoot them on the mainland, either. That would require the ability to own a gun.

It's still pretty easy to get a license for a rifle for hunting. Either you live on a large enough property or you get an affidavit from someone who lives on one saying you have permission to hunt on their land.
Dingoes and Wild Dogs are legal to hunt provided you use a .222 Remington or larger. I've never shot them as they don't live this far south.

Just don't use that rifle to defend your property, yourself from bodily harm, your life or the lives of your loved ones or the Australian government will shove that rifle up your ass.

Incorrect, it depends on the State, but it's generally defined as okay if it was a a reasonable use of force. 9/10 You'll still go to court to prove it though.. which is how all possible manslaughter cases should be treated.

This is the one place in Australia where I've actually lots of sharks.
There is a light plane tour you can take from the main beach on Fraser Island (go find the pilot in the pub). He takes off on the sand, and flies over the water. Sharks everywhere !

'He came into my house firing a gun, so I shot him with mine.'
Justifiable use of resonable force.
